Shining Bright in Shanghai
On August 12, the 2026 (5th) GGII Intelligent Welding Robot Technology and Application Summit, themed “Empowering Embodied Intelligence, Forging Welding Power,” kicked off grandly in Shanghai. With the rapid evolution of collaborative robots and the ongoing advancement of lead-free welding technologies, intelligent welding is accelerating its expansion into complex industrial scenarios such as shipbuilding, steel structure fabrication, and heavy industry. Addressing the vast market demand and technological challenges, Vizum was honored to attend this prestigious event, joining peers across the industry chain to discuss new technologies and trends in intelligent welding.

Insightful Vision, Uncovering New Opportunities
At the summit, Dr. Dong Xiaojian, CEO of Vizum, delivered a keynote speech titled “Multi-Dimensional Perception: The New Engine for AI Welding.” Dr. Dong conducted an in-depth analysis of the six key challenges currently facing the lead-free welding industry: difficult deployment, challenging feature extraction, weak anti-interference capabilities, heavy reliance on blueprints, lack of quality closed-loop systems, and insufficient autonomous decision-making.

To address these pain points, Dr. Dong highlighted the ViEye ProV2 fusion weld dual-measurement camera. This product integrates “six-in-one” capabilities: static area scanning, dynamic line scanning, precision RGB imaging, weld tracking, weld pool monitoring, and dynamic weld imaging. Its core lies in “replicating the visual logic of human welders.” Without relying on 3D blueprints, it enables autonomous acquisition of 3D weld data before welding, while performing real-time tracking and weld pool monitoring during the process, facilitating the construction of a PQC (Process Quality Control) closed-loop system. Simultaneously, VisionNav Robotics is collaborating with partners to build a synergistic welding ecosystem through open SDKs and algorithmic interfaces.
Like-Minded Innovation, Sharing Professional Insights
During the roundtable discussion, Dr. Dong Xiaojian engaged in an in-depth dialogue with industry guests on “Technological Divergence and Consensus in Intelligent Welding.” Addressing topics such as how the level of intelligence in lead-free welding supports “plug-and-weld” capabilities, how multi-modal visual perception solves challenges with complex, irregularly shaped workpieces, and the commercialization pace of industrial embodied intelligence, Dr. Dong shared practical experience in leveraging precision vision to empower autonomous robot operations, drawing from VisionNav’s long-term technological accumulation in 3D machine vision, which resonated widely with the audience.

Recognized for Excellence
At the 2026 China Intelligent Welding Industry Pioneer Awards ceremony held on the afternoon of August 12, Vizum was honored with the “2026 China Intelligent Welding Industry Excellence Product Award” for the outstanding performance of its ViEye series in technological innovation and industrial application. This honor is not only an affirmation of the product’s application value but also strong recognition of VisionNav’s continuous cultivation in the field of intelligent welding.

Building the Future Together
From the continuous iteration of innovative vision technologies to the practical implementation in complex heavy industrial scenarios, Vizum remains committed to transforming cutting-edge 3D vision technology into powerful productivity for industrial manufacturing. Moving forward, Vizum will continue to center its efforts on multi-dimensional perception technology, optimize its AI welding engine, and work hand-in-hand with partners to jointly promote the high-quality development of China’s intelligent welding industry.
